God calls us to Respect Ourselves and others
We have the ability to be kind.
We have the choice to make right or wrong!
God has given us a gift to live and to protect others!
God has given us love and worship for ever.
God has given us parents to protect us.
God will trust us for ever and ever.
We rely on each other.

Reminder
Please remember to make sure your children bring a drink bottle to school as the bubblers are still not in use.
Council Ranger
If you have dropped off or collected your children from school over the last few weeks you would have noticed that the council rangers have been patrolling. In addition, some of you may not have noticed, but there has also been an unmarked police car patrolling during this same time. These patrols have not been initiated by the school. These patrols have been occurring at many schools in the area as a reminder of the rules in school zones. Most times this results in a warning and a reminder of the rules but sometimes it does mean a fine so please be mindful that you are following the rules. The safety of our students is very important, these people are only doing their job in reminding people of this so please treat them with respect. There have been concerns that the ranger has been taking photos. This is to identify the street signage and the number plates of cars, they are not taking photos of students. Should you have an issue with this please contact the council.
Parent Communication
During remote learning teachers were able to communicate effectively with parents during the day via Dojo. As teachers are now teaching all day they are unable to teach their class and maintain that same level of immediate contact. If you send messages to teachers please be mindful of this, if you need to get a message through to your child it is best to go through the office so that it is not missed. If you have a concern you need to discuss, academic or otherwise, please ring the office and make an appointment to speak to the teacher. Remember that teachers are entitled to their weekend and time with their families at night. Can I please ask that you are respectful of staff in your communication, remember to speak to staff the way you like yourself and members of your family to be spoken to.
This is the last newsletter for the term, it is hard to believe that we are heading towards the end of the year. This is the time of the year when you can truly marvel at God’s creation. It is amazing how the trees and plants know it is time to wake up and it seems like it just happens overnight. I hope you all enjoy your time away from routine over the holidays and are able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather and notice the beauty in God’s creation.
At STA we have three very important school rules:
At STA we have a uniform code to follow. When we are wearing the correct uniform we are representing our school with pride, respect and showing fairness to all students and staff.
Remember to:
- Wear Black Leather shoes with full school uniform.
- Wear mostly white joggers on sports days.
Remember pride in the uniform is a thing!
Act respectfully and wear the uniform correctly.

At STA we follow the rules of the game we are playing.
- Use all the equipment correctly.
- Check the posters around the school or check with a teacher if you are not sure.
- Use kind and respectful words and voice when sorting out a problem in a game. Always use your manners.
- Hands on, tackling and contact sport is NEVER allowed at STA. This is the rule for EVERYONE, every single day.
- Safe and respectful play is not about winning or losing, or if you are in or out.
Just be a good sport and have fun with your friends. Watch these videos about respect.
Remember to follow the STA rules during play.
Stay Safe and Act Respectfully every single day.

Christmas Artworks
Years 5 & 6 students from Catholic schools across the Diocese of Wollongong were invited to take part in the annual Christmas Story Art Competition and Exhibition.
This is an initiative of the Catholic Education Offices in Wollongong and Sydney, designed to celebrate and explore children’s creative and artistic ability in illustrating the Christmas story.
Competition winners were announced last night and congratulations to our Year 6 students: Angelique received a Highly Commended and Eden & Elise have progressed to the next stage of the competition.

Year 4 Team Building Day
The Year 4 Team Building Day focused on building positive relationships with each other. The students played games, role played and discussed appreciating each other's differences and how to resolve conflict so that school is a happy and safe place. All students contributed with a positive attitude.
Basketball
In September the Illawarra Academy of Sport announced trials for a sponsorship program for talented basketballers. Hanna A and Maisie W, both bottom age for the under 14's program but with a passion and love of the game, were nominated to trial - and were accepted. They then proudly passed the first selection and went on to trial for the second selection a week later. Their hard work and dedication paid off, as they were both selected and received sponsorships for the 2020/2021 IAS Basketball Program!! Go Hanna & Maisie! Well done and all the best for your basketball future.
