First Communion
Last Sunday we celebrated the solemnity of Christ the King which is most appropriate for our First Holy Communion Mass. Congratulations to the First Communicants, you made us and your parents very proud of you. It was a very beautiful and reverent Mass.
Thank you to the parents and teachers that worked together to prepare the students so well. Thank you also to the students and staff who were able to support the students in the liturgy group. We hope the children remember this day for the rest of their lives.
Lord Jesus, I love and adore you.
You’re a special friend to me.
Welcome, Lord Jesus, O welcome.
Thank you for coming to me.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, O thank you
For giving yourself to me.
Make me strong to show your love
Wherever I may be.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask you to stay
Close by me forever and love me, I pray.
Bless all of us children in your loving care
And bring us to heaven to live with you there.
I’m ready now, Lord Jesus,
To show how much I care.
I’m ready now to give your love
At home and everywhere.
Children Leaving STA
Please let us know if you are planning to move your child/children to a different school in 2020 as soon as possible, as we have had quite a few enquiries over the past weeks for new enrolments and we need to gauge an idea of class sizes for 2020.
Kindergarten Transition for 2020
Today was the last of the play group sessions. To complete the program there will be a parent information session and orientation for the children in the classrooms next Tuesday. The current Kindergarten teachers will also continue to make contact and will be visiting preschools over the coming weeks.
We thank all of the families that have attended these sessions and the teachers that have organized the program. We believe that it will make an easy transition for the students at the start of the year.
International Day of People with Disability
Every year on 3 December, people around the world take part in International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), a day to celebrate the achievements of people with disability and promote awareness, understanding and acceptance in the community. Providing awareness, helps to break down barriers for the 4.3 million Australians with a disability and create a more inclusive community for all. Schools are a vital part of this by providing opportunities to help grow inclusion in their own communities. Students can learn more about people with disability, recognise the challenges they can face, and talk about ways to be more inclusive. International Day of People with Disability, also provides an opportunity to celebrate the talents, achievements and positive contributions of students with disability.
Christmas Cards & Candy Canes
We ask that you please refrain from allowing your children to hand out Christmas cards until Week 9 so that we are able to keep the students settled and focused on the work that is still taking place in the classrooms. We also ask that no 'candy canes' be given out at school. Thank you for your support with this.
"Helpers" thank you and morning tea
Throughout the year there are many family and community members who help out within the school for reading, fundraising, student banking, sporting events etc. We would like the opportunity to thank you for your generosity with a morning tea. Please find an invitation accompanying this newsletter. We hope you are able to join us.

Recently Year 3 at STA participated in the Wingecarribee Shire Council Christmas art competition. The grade has been working on botanical art like the First Fleet botanists as well as researching endangered animals and how to draw them. The competition group was aged between 7 and 12 years. Henry C from 3 Blue was the overall winner. He and his family have been invited to light up the Bowral Christmas tree. Congratulations Henry!
