PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear Parents, Caregivers & Students
Hoping that everyone was able to enjoy the long weekend and possibly recuperate from some of the “bugs” that many students seem to have at the moment. We are requesting that children are kept at home if they are sick, as this avoids others catching the colds and bugs, as well as possibly helping a sick child recover much quicker. Please remember to provide an explanation if your child is not at school.
We are very fortunate that we have had some warmer, sunny days and the freezing cold days have been minimal for this stage in the year. A reminder that non-uniform coats are only to be worn on freezing days and school jumpers/jackets must be worn as well as these coats not instead of our jumpers. We require every student to wear our full school uniform. School beanies are available from the office for $15.00. Thank you to all our families who dress their children in our uniform & ensure that their child wears their uniform with pride.
SCHOOL CONCERT – CLAIM THE DATE – 24th October – 11.30am & 6.00pm
Mr Dom Lindsay, our Music teacher, is preparing a school concert involving every class and every student, so we are asking families to save this date. This will be in place of our Christmas Concert and will be our Christmas gift to members of our community, as we will be inviting parishioners & residents of nursing homes to come along & enjoy some entertainment at the matinee performance.
LANGUAGE SURVEY
There is a survey of the languages that are spoken by your family that has been sent home as a paper copy and we are asking everyone to complete the survey (one per family). This is to assist us with planning for support and to provide our Catholic Education Office with information regarding the needs of families in the whole Diocese. Please complete as soon as possible & return the paper copy to the school. If you need assistance please contact Eileen or Shauna at the front office.
BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE – A REMINDER
We are seeking feedback from all our parents/caregivers as to the possibility of using these services if we offered this on-site from 2020. This may be from a full-time, part-time or on a casual basis. It is really important for us to have appropriate numbers to be able to proceed with organising the establishment of our STA Out Of School Hours services.

SCHOOL CANTEEN 2020
Our wonderful Mairead Stirling in the Canteen will be finishing at STA at the end of this year as her youngest child leaves Year 6. When we are farewelling people in Term 4, there will be an opportunity for our school community to suitably acknowledge her great contribution to our school.
This notice is to announce that we will be putting the School Canteen Management out for tender for anyone who may be interested in taking over from Mairead. There are policies and procedures that are required by the Catholic Education Office that we will make available to interested parties. All the details will be available from next term and further information will be announced in the newsletter.
PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Please take the opportunity to book in to speak with your child’s teacher in Week 10 of this term. Student Reports for Years 1-6 will be published via the COMPASS APP on Friday, 28th June, so that you can have some discussion regarding your child’s progress after their first semester of learning.
Please see the attached flyer for booking details:
PUPIL FREE DAY – FRIDAY 21st JUNE
Students do not attend school on this day.
Please note our next Assembly is Friday 5th July starting at 2.00pm as we will celebrate NAIDOC Week, present age champions and farewell Ms Kerry Lord who will be taking twelve months leave.
We wish our Year 6 students a fantastic day in Canberra tomorrow & using this opportunity to see first-hand all the aspects of our Australian Parliament that they have been learning about in class.
Warm regards
Mary-Lynn Lane
Principal
