FINDING SUPPORT WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY
At times we can all be overwhelmed by the day to day tasks we need to undertake. This can be especially challenging when life events occur that limit our capacity to meet these challenges. Many of us have access to family and friends that can support us with these challenges, however for some this is not the case. Gather My Crew is an Australian charity who believe in a world where everyone going through a tough time is surrounded by the support of their own community. They believe people want to help – they just need to know how. They believe people doing it tough want to ask for help – they just need the support to do so. This is their focus and as such they provide technology, guidance and online support – making it easy to coordinate supportive communities around people in need. Their online help roster is the first step in this process. It is free and easy to use.

NATIONAL STORYTIME
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 19th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
